The Ottowa Citizen wrote on this when they took criticism for using the "T-word". The article is no longer online, but I quoted it in full here. Although their major media don't betray the fact, there are still plenty of level-headed Canadians with a command of both reason and the language.

Thanks for the comment, read your piece as well.
My beef is, of course, not with Canadians per se: the beef is definitely, definitely with the CBC.
What is it with state-owned/-subsidized media like the BBC, CBC and above all NPR that almost requires them to end up pushing a socialist/left-wing agenda and then acting oh-so-suprised when people complain about it, denying an obvious bias?
Could it be that "reality-based" is based on an alternative reality?
"Diagonally parked in a parallel universe" used to be a favorite tagline of mine...
